Blog experience

I never had a blog before, this is the first time in my life. I find it really interesting, because you can express your feelings, tell histories about your life or anything that you want and the rest of people can see this and discuse or support your opinion. It´s a good way to show your discontent about some topics in your life or about the society too.
Also I think is a really good method to learn english, because I never write in this language and write every week in this blog is a good way for improving my english.
I hope that every day I will learn more and more until I can see my own mystakes and correct them.

FIFA world cup 2014

Since two weeks the FIFA world cup 2014 beginns, I love see all games of this cup in TV, because the games are of the best level in the world, and FIFA makes this tournament once in four years. The best players of soccer play representing their countries, for example Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, they are the bests of this time in the world. 

I as a chilean am very happy because we have a great team, with excelent players, that give everything in every game for win and give us great moments. Since ever the chilean people dreamed with win one world cup and today we have the hope of could release this drear, but one more time we are in front of Brasil in the second round, the most winner team in the history of soccer with five stars. In the last three tournaments Chile was eliminated by Brasil. We have a very bad luck, but we think, that this year we have faith of can break the history and win the game, in their home,in front of their people.

The best experience in faculty

In the faculty I have been many good and funny moments with my classmates, but there is one that is my favorite and for me is the best experience that I had this semester.
This experince was the first party in the faculty and I have many reasons for say that. At first because in this period we had class only until 12, we didn,t have any test and in general everything was very relax at the university.
In this party I had a really good time, I met better my classmates and many of them are my friends now, also I met people from anotrher levels, whose today help me with my homeworks and resolved my doubts about my subjects.
These day I played guitar with my classmates, played beerpong and danced a lot, in general I made a lot of funny things, that I can,t make now, because I don`t have enough time.

Pierre Fauchard

Today I'll talk about the most important person in Odontology, he`s Pierre Fauchard, recognized like the father of this career.
I heard the history of Pierre Fauchard at the beginning of this year at university when a historian present us an oral presentation of the history of Odontoloy.

He was born in Britain in 1678 and died at the year  1729. He was a militar surgeon, who in 1728 published his first book of Odontology, call "Le chirurgen dentiste ou traité des dents" in which talk about the firsts previews of Odontology and in 1947 he published the second edition of his book with more material and better illustrartions. 

This second edition is considered like the most important book of the odontologic history, because with this book Pierre Fauchard differentiate between a surgeon of a dentist surgeon, and in fact he was recognized like the first dentist surgeon. And also this book was used like basis for all the new books of Odontology in the future, because it had great information of this area.

Nowadays his contribution was very important, because without him, maybe we haven´t all the things and techniques that we use in Odontology, and all the things that proffesors teach us at University was connected with these firsts studies.

The Facebook

          Today exist a lot of social networks, in which the people can make different things, like express their feelings, show photos, etc. The most popular in this time is The Facebook, this is relly good, but there is problems with it too.
          Facebook was founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, with the purpose of meet people and have contact with them, regardless where they,re from. Is very usefull, because we can see important people for us, that be very far, and know how they are in his photos or talk with them by chat. But Facebook also have bad things, for example when you chat with people, you don`t know,  if the person in the computer is really who you think.  Therefore if a children enter to facebook and begins to talk with a stranger, this could be very dangerous, because a lot of rapist use this medium to find his victims.

My Favorite Photograph

        This photo was taken by the sport  representative of the students center of my school, in the gym, after an internal baby football championship, this was in the year 2012, when I was in last year of highschool, in it I`'m with some of my schoolmates and they were not only schoolmates, they were really good friends, and they still are and in this case also my baby football partners. In the photo you can see us with a trophy, because we won the championship.

         I like very much this photo for different reasons, mainly because all of us were very happy and together and in this moment we are separated, because we took different ways (different cities and universities). Another reason because I like this photo is, that we never  won this championship before, and in the last year we were the champions and since I was a kid, always has been very competitive.

Tennis

          Tennis was invented by the royalty of England, it consists basically in hitting a ball with the help of a racket trying to make that ball go over a net, falling into the other side of the court.

 I’ve chosen this sport because I’ve always been a fan of it, mainly because when I was seven years old I’ve started playing it back home in Punta Arenas, although the weather made it hard, I kept trying to become a better player. I played it for a long period of time, almost 6 years in a tennis club, unfortunately when I was nearly 14 I had to stop, mainly due to financial problems, because the equipment that I need to play it is very expensive.

          But that didn’t stopped my love for the sport, currently I like to watch all the main tournaments such as Wimbledon, The US Open, and the rest of the Grand Slams. My favorite player is Roger Federer because I think he’s the best tennis player in the history of this sport and also he’s a gentleman as much inside as outside the court.

Technology

              Currently exist a lot of technological objects, that the people use for different things, and always there is one, that's more important than others. My favorite is my Smartphone. My dad gave me this Smartphone since almost two years ago, in my birthday, and since that date I used it every day. It's very useful for me, because whit this I can be in contact with my parents, my girlfriend and my friends all the time by whatsapp, and I am very far of them, also I received mails and I can be informed of news of my country and the world in web. Whit my Smartphone I make calls too and take a lot of photos, and I like it very much. My life without a Smartphone would be more difficult , because I am accustomed to use it, and be in contact with people every time, for be informed or just for fun.

Expectations for this new semester

My expectation for this semester are not very high, because I`m in an adaptation period, new University and new city, and I don`t have many time to make all the things, that I want,  but this semester that I want is pass all my signatures, these are anatomy, biology, chemestry, skills for odontoly  and physicisit, although anatomy is the most difficult is my favorite. This semester also I want make good friends, because I´m very social, and I like aways be in contact with people and have good moments with them. In the future I wish take part in Sports and in extracurricular activities. I will take Basketball, becuase since a long time I played this Sport in school, and I like it very much.

About me

My name is Alex Rodolfo Stowhas Suarez, but I don’t like my middle name, so everybody calls me just Alex.  I was born in a small city south of Chile called Punta Arenas, on the 30th May in 1994. So I’m now 19 years old.  In Punta Arenas I lived with my mother, her father and mother (my grandparents), and my brother. My brother is actually my fraternal twin called Erich, that means we have the same age and that is so much fun, because we do everything together.  My parents got divorced in 2004, my father still lives in Punta Arenas, but since that year, he doesn´t live with us anymore.

I went to both elementary and high school in a private school called “ColegioAlemán de Punta Arenas”. When I graduated from school, I took a year to prepare myself so I could get into a good university.  This year I traveled almost 4000 kilometers to get to Santiago, where I currently study Odontology at the “Universidad de Chile”. I now live with my brother Erich and a friend in an apartment.

In my free time I like to play guitar, watch movies and relax listening to music. I used to play Basketball but I had to drop it, because I don’t have time to practice, especially since I entered the university, but I´ll start playing again as soon as I can.
